Aaaamaaaziing. NGC as in NGC and as in NGC ;) Get it? Probably not, thus a need to explain has become apparent:
NGC usually stands for National Geographic Channel. It also is a nickname we, biology students have devised for our microbiology professor, Nina G Cimerman. And now we see it is also a nebula ... And quite a lovely one, come to that.
Almost in the ranks of the Horsehead nebula and the M42 in Orion. (see links)
